This story was created from decades of classroom experiences and a deep belief that every child deserves to discover the joy of reading.

Esmeralda was an unforgettable teacher. Her kindness, patience and care for my well-being became a memory stored in my bones, which allowed me to go much further in life than my upbringing alone would have allowed for. She encouraged me to be a writer, but one that shared her work and didn't keep it to herself. That was in first grade. Today, I am a professional writer. And I have built a platform that encourages writers to share their work among other writers. We nurture each other's voices. I will always remember Esmeralda's powerful energy, which resonated through her kind and caring heart. Her ways are literally the gift that keeps giving.

Mrs. Esmeralda Kruse is a dynamic, creative, and bilingual educator who made our first year at Tanglewood Elementary unforgettable. She brought an unmatched energy to her classroom every day, blending her bilingual talents with a deeply creative approach to learning that made every child feel seen and excited to learn.

The absolute highlight of our year was the unforgettable first-grade play she created about the Lone Star State. Mrs. Kruse managed to unite the entire first-grade class of Tanglewood Elementary School in Fort Worth, orchestrating a masterpiece filled with catchy songs, fun dialogues, and immense joy. It was not just a play about Texas; she gave our children a spotlight, a sense of community, and a memory they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

Esmeralda Kruse is a mother, educator, and friend who has given her life to inspire thousands of youngsters to love books and reading. 

 Her own love of books and different genres was evident as she exposed children to a world beyond the classroom.

 

As her principal, I recognized and respected Esmeralda Kruse as a true gem who was one of the “BEST” teachers I encountered in my career.  Students loved her and parents respected and appreciated the positive impact she had on their children.  As Ms. Kruse embarks on her career as an author of children’s books, she will continue to touch young readers and provide entertaining literature that encourages children to see reading as a gift that can keep on giving throughout their lives.

My first daughter was intelligent but being the best student was not her objective. Esmeralda was patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable about different learning styles for her students.  She collaborated with us and gave us feedback on how to reinforce the lessons at home that she had taught at school. We felt like a team working together toward educational objectives.

 

My second daughter was the ultimate student, earning all A’s all the way through her educational journey (K-MBA in Accounting). She thrived on the schoolwork and Mrs. Kruse’s teaching style. Both girls learned to love reading, writing and math because of their background in her class.She is our favorite educator, and we often reminisce about “old times.”
